Style Profile: Jada Pinkett Smith

Gone are the days of her pixie blonde cut in the 90's and baggy oversized look from A Different World, Jada Pinkett Smith has morphed into a sleek pint sized sophisticate. Standing five feet tall hasn't stopped this powerhouse from flexing her style muscle and towering over the competition. She is not afraid to combine eye catching colors that complement one another or shimmering metallics into her wardrobe, yet her hair and makeup stay simple and chic. She favors body conscious silhouettes with clean lines that make her appear taller and blends vintage frocks with the latest, up to the minute platform heel. You shortstacks, take note, Mrs. Smith always, always wears heels.

Shaken, not stirred......

I am of the opinion that style should be ever evolving. I don't want to be pigeon-holed into one particular style of dress so I have decided to shake things up a bit. I will begin to experiment with more variable looks and take inspiration from different sources. I am excited about doing more thrifting to find great one of a kind pieces.

A few things I'm considering:

ASOS Leather Suede Fringe Front Heeled Sandal $45.50

I think the sleeves used as the tie around the waist is what makes this so appealing to me.

Cool, Casual, by Slow and Steady Wins the Race Shirt Dress $88

Harper's Bazaar Great Style: Best Ways to Update Your Look $16.47

This is tres funky!

Cigarettes, Anyone?

I'll admit that I was apprehensive about trying cigarette pants, I have a large derriere and felt that no good could come of me trying to fit it into a pair of pants that are defined as "straight and narrow." But I was pleasantly surprised at how versatile these were, you can pair them with a tunic or add a blazer for a dressier vibe. I found some black ones at Gap and I wear them with thong sandals, ballerina flats and sky high heels and they make me feel so Audrey Hepburn-ish!
