The Future

Went down to my mom's to see my youngest sister receive her associate's degree from college this weekend. I'm so proud of her and it's always a treat to spend time with my family.

I have been contemplating about what I am going to do with the blog. Not sure how much longer I'll keep it up. I actually enjoy the writing part of it, just not sure if I want it to continue to be so accessible to others. I discuss my life here and I do not want some to know anything about my life. And I can't control that unless I choose not to discuss my life. Which would not make it my blog anymore..
Family Time!

I have also struggled with the style part of my blog. If you've followed my blog long enough you know that I repeat the same pieces but I'll remix them or add some new accessories but I don't feel that my blog has to be a showcase of constantly buying new things or having the latest and greatest "it" items. I do not revamp my wardrobe every season or go and purchase items of more known bloggers so that I can be in "the clique." I feel that this is more about my personal style and my evolution as I continue to live my life. But sometimes I am just not feeling the need to put the photos up. If you follow me on Instagram you know that I take lots of pictures but not necessarily for blog purposes.
Dress: H&M
Bag: Prada
Shoes: Pink & Pepper

Can anyone else relate? Hoping that this feeling will pass or I may find another creative outlet and pursue that instead....I'll let (some of) you know...

When I started my blog I made the decision NOT to share really personal things about my life on. When you do, you always open yourself up for judgement, side eyes, a rude comments. So some will like it if you do share personal things and some won't. I choose not to in order to avoid drama and having to snap back at folks cause I ain't about that life. I say do what makes you comfortable. If you are no longer comfortable sharing personal things don't. Keep it surface if that's what you need to do for your sanity. At the end of the day, it's your blog, your life so just do you. Another option is to close your comments section.

I love your blog as well. I tend to hide and watch but I love seeing your outfits and getting the inspirational messages you give from your stories. I hope you don't shut it down but if you do, I'm sure a LOT of us are going to miss you!

luv the blog, and so glad that you don't have the same exact clothing items as other bloggers. I get so tired or seeing the same 'it' bag, or people shopping at the same places...ASOS...ZARA...and whatnot.

I thought blogs were suppose to be about originality anyway...whatever

but don't go away though...your stories are too funny, and your color combos have inspired me to inject different colors into my wardrobe.

I enjoy the fact that you wear the same clothes on the blog, like us folks in the real world. But I respect the fact that this is your blog and your choice about what/how you share. I agree you have a great sense of humor!

As someone who enjoys reading your story and enjoys your style, I am begging you not to stop. I enjoy your candor, your ability to pour it all out without restraint. That is refreshing...in this blogging world. So my advice is if you feel you are in a rut, take a rest away from blogging but come back with more good stories. I have no followers at all; and there are days I just want to shut down my blog, because I am no style guru but I blog mostly for myself; it cures me and keeps me sane. So I am not stopping now...Please do not....

I love your dress Juanette. I'm glad you don't blog about the current fads. I like that you show vintage looks and also items from places like Zara. That's why I follow your blog.

Could you lock it down and make it private and just send invites to those that you want to allow to read it. I have a few friends who've done this...one in particular because after a divorce her ex mother in law was stalking her via her blog and using info read on her blog to harass her. just a suggestion.

I want you to get your life so hard! LoL I love your posts because I can really relate to them and your fashion is very much on point. Its rare to find bloggers who wear clothes I would wear (as in not showing all my business). There are very few Black fashion bloggers girl, we needs you. But I understand you gotta do you. I hope this isn't your last post!

Congrats to your sister for getting her associate’s degree. I love those shoes. I get what you mean about not wanting people to know your business all the time. A lot of people can relate to your blog but I think that you should do what is best for you.

I understand how you feel about blogging about real life. It is easy for any of us to be anonymous and blog about random things but the game changes when it is our lives up on the chopping block. You are original and that is something to be proud of. If you are still feeling in a funk maybe you would benefit from a blogging vacation. I also agree with your views on style. Style is not about having the most up to date line from the next big thing. Style is about being creative enough to be able to use that same old dress and make it vibrant.

I really enjoy the personal touch on your blog. The fact that it's not just pictures. You inspire me stylistically as well as mentally. I'm just saying. Hope you continue to blog, but whatever you do, you've been real and I appreciate that about your blog.

It's funny because no one in my real life knows about my blog. And I keep it that way just in case I need to vent about those people. *sneaky sneaky* I started out writing about fashion but when I had a stint without a job and was a full time student, I wasn't really worried about dressing up. I think we all go through our cycles. I would hate to see you go, especially since I"m just discovering you...

Maybe make another secret one. Just close this one down?
