In a Box

This is not a fashion related post, unless you count the '80's "Color Me Bad"-like attire that he wears in the "video" but I thought the skit that Justin Timberlake did on SNL was hilarious! He recently reprised the skit at a concert at Madison Square Garden with SNL cast member Andy Samberg. View the video here but this is not safe for work, unless you have a cool boss.

NYC Fashion Week: Marc Jacobs

Not only did he outfit Winona Ryder and Lil Kim in their court appearances (prison chic?) but Marc Jacobs has also successfully outfitted those not involved in the legal system. Preview his Fall 2007 RTW collection with narrower silhouettes than seen in any of his previous collections. I think that the pops of color against a black/dark background are SO chic.

Jeans Snafu? Try Zafu

Have the blue jeans blues? Tired of trying to find jeans that fit in the waist, make you look 5 pounds thinner and hugs your butt perfectly without trekking through 6 department stores, 20 pairs of jeans in each store and STILL not finding that "must have" pair? Zafu will help you find the most figure flattering denim for your body type. The Zafu team has tried on, measured and photographed over 200 pairs of jeans in 70 brands that they are constantly adding to. Prices range from $25 to $250 with all of the latest styles. Simply answer a few questions about waist fit, thigh, rise and give your stats (height, weight, etc.) and voila! You are provided with a list of jeans that are designed to fit you and then you select the ones that you like. You are also able to give a "wishlist" of what you want your jeans to do for you. Want to look curvy, minimize those hips or look booty-licious? They will scan and find the jeans that can help you without the screaming cursing and crying that I go through when trying to find jeans. But remember, the BODY for these jeans is ultimately designed by you so the jeans may not ALWAYS be to blame.

NYC Fashion Week: Tracy Reese

Designers have already shifted their focus on fall and the unveiling has taken place at New York Fashion Week. Here is a preview of Tracy Reese's Fall 2007 Ready-to-Wear line: (I am IN LOVE with the polka dot tights!)

Deal of the Day: $5 Sweater!

Spotted this deal over at Batch Please! (one of my new favorites!) and had to pass it on to my readers. This black long sleeve sweater with a plunging neckline can be worn with a cami underneath for a casual look or a button down shirt for a more "buttoned up" feel. (Or if you are feeling adventurous, nothing underneath?!?!?)

....and red all over

One of the best ways to finish your look is to add a shot of red. Whether its red lipstick, shoes or a handbag, scarlet can definitely let your personality reflect your boldness.

Wet Seal center stripe bangle $6; Steve Madden Pillar sandal $89.95

Mystic Phoenix bangle $18 at alltherageonline

Victoria lace back court shoe $32.18 (on sale!) at asos and woven braided jean belt $7.50 at Wet Seal

Windsor sweets headband $6 and oblong and bead necklace $7 at Wet Seal

Splurge: Fendi canvas B bag $1,430 at net-a-porter
Steal: "Nora" satchel $49.50 at Bakers

A lot of the looks shown are great looks for Spring, but since we are still in the winter months, I wanted to show this crochet hat for my friend Dee who was looking for a hat in a great color. This is reminiscent of the hat Mary J. Blige wore in the Gap Red campaign.

Trend Forecast - Trapeze Shapes

Trapeze designs are cropping up all over designers Spring looks. The look is definitely more forgiving than sheath dresses and allows for those days when you may be feeling not quite so, *ahem* thin. Pair the swingy silhouette with stovepipe or slim pants for tops or platform shoes with dresses. Remember to balance the volume of the top half with a slimmer silhouette at the bottom. Large over large = "Is she pregnant?" or "wth?!?!"

Splurge: Marc by Marc Jacobs "Braxton" coat $428; Steal: Coffee Shop fencing coat $68

Bi La Li trapeze coat $310

Tocca "Ina" coat $550; Twinkle drawstring wrap coat $257.90 (on sale!)
