Another Yay or Nay for Drew Barrymore. I personally love the look of this sleek Gucci dress, the off-the-shoulder look is both sexy and understated. Definitely something I would wear. BUT with breast petal covers!

Screen Actors Guild Awards 2008

The Screen Actor's Guild awards were held last night and celebrities actually showed up, unlike the Golden Globes. Best dressed hands down was America Ferrera of Ugly Betty. My jaw dropped when I saw how stunning she looked in her Monique Lhullier slate grey gown. They may have to change the name of the show if she keeps this up!



Also knocking me off my feet is Chandra Wilson of Grey's Anatomy. Dr. Bailey has performed a successful procedure with her red carpet ready look. I suspect she had the help of a stylist this time around, but whatever works!



Needing help STAT are Chandra's Grey's cohorts Ellen Pompeo and Sandra Oh:


Ellen Pompeo, you get back in there this instant and steam that dress! Not the best choice of fabric, Grey.

What I did on my summer vacation...

Actually, it was what I did last week. I got to assist in my first photo shoot. I am now the shoot coordinator for designer sitelets and kids at my company and it was a great move! I get to work with the studios, the art directors, and photographers as well as our online team. It's a very creative and laid back atmosphere.

The shoot went well, it was for kids clothing and they were flat shots (which meant no little kid models running around, thank goodness!) I never knew there was so much involved, I thought it would be easier to shoot since there were no models but this process actually takes longer and my tootsies were killing me by the end of the day because I decided to wear high heeled boots. (I have since invested in some flats.) There was also a lot of down time but the art director spent the setup time giving me styling tips for the outfits that we prepped. Most Improved Star of 2007

My vote definitely goes to Katie Holmes, who transformed herself from girl-next-door to a sexy sophisticate in 2007. Who would believe that Joey from Dawson's Creek would emerge as a style star? From the bob that launched a thousand tongues wagging, Mrs. Tom Cruise has upped her cute quotient to make her a go to gal for style cues. So I present her with a Most Improved badge for her to wear proudly.

Worst Dressed Celebs 2007

Finally I am validated. Posh Spice is the Worst Dressed celeb of 2007. I have been scratching my head trying to figure out why people look to see what she is wearing and not at her metrosexual (but cute) hubby. Unless you have a penchant for not eating for months at a time then you can fit into the itty bitty clothes costume-like clothing that she favors. And that sour expression and severe bob doesn't help her case. Bravo, Mr. Blackwell, bravo.

What is the style verdict of Drew Barrymore's Gucci criss cross dress? I am not sure if the badge-like thing is removeable but I would definitely give it a Yea without it. I still kinda like it.

"Resort"ing to Spring

While those of us who were lucky enough to budget wisely (I wasn't) are able to take advantage of the post Christmas sales, I am looking forward to the Spring. It's actually named Resort collections for the well heeled who travel to warm locations to escape the bitter winters.
