                                          Hey y'all. Remember me? Yeah, I know....

 I have been working extra hard at school this year and it ain't even funny. I have a ton of responsibilities outside of my teaching duties and it has been very, very un-awesome as of late.

  I know that un-awesome is not a word but it is fitting.

 

BET re-ran "Being Mary Jane" (y'all know that's my ish) and someone sent me a message on my Facebook page that they watched it and it reminded them of me. I can dig it, it reminds me of me too. Y'all now that I loves me a quote just like M.J.

 But then it made me sad.

 

Because although Mary Jane is smart, beautiful, successful and a lot more well to do than I am, she is, in fact; alone. 

 When Mary Jane tells her friend Mark that she doesn't want to be a cliche, she wants to be the exception to the rule; I feel that. And settling for less than I deserve is not an option. So I guess what I should take out of this is that although Mary Jane is single, she is not a victim. She is not needy. And I'm not mad at her romantic life. At all. (Omari Hardwick? Stephen Bishop who retweeted my tweet about him so I feel that I know him in real life? Yes,  please.) So I'll take that comparison. And enjoy the journey along the way....
