NYC Fashion Week: Rachel Roy

I am a fan of Rachel Roy's personal style as much as her fashion line. I first heard of Rachel when I saw a shot of her closet in O Magazine a couple of years ago and she talked about her burgeoning clothing line. To paraphrase Jerry Maguire, "She had me at her closet." Her collection, launched in 2004 boasts a mix of youthfulness and sophistication. The styles are elegant and feminine but not mother of the bride and she adds touches of trends with pockets and puff sleeves. Lovely!

NYC Fashion Week: 3.1 Phillip Lim

Phillip Lim's contemporary line has me drooling over his shapes and use of color. I am in total agreement of his mantra that his line is "clothes people wear."

This is not a fashion related post, unless you count the '80's "Color Me Bad"-like attire that he wears in the "video" but I thought the skit that Justin Timberlake did on SNL was hilarious! He recently reprised the skit at a concert at Madison Square Garden with SNL cast member Andy Samberg. View the video here but this is not safe for work, unless you have a cool boss.

NYC Fashion Week: Marc Jacobs

Not only did he outfit Winona Ryder and Lil Kim in their court appearances (prison chic?) but Marc Jacobs has also successfully outfitted those not involved in the legal system. Preview his Fall 2007 RTW collection with narrower silhouettes than seen in any of his previous collections. I think that the pops of color against a black/dark background are SO chic.
