In the pocket

I am a sucker for a pocket dress, I just love to be able to put my hands in my pockets pretending to look like a model and swing around on the catwalk. (In my mind people, in my mind.) It is a great mix of function and fun, you can hide your tube of gloss, a couple of bobby pins, maybe even your cell and still look chic! Check out Life and Style Mag to see how to pocket this trend.

Yea or Nay?

What's the style verdict on these yellow patent leather linen wrapped platforms with colored gems at the toe? (Whew, try saying that three times fast!) I think that they are definitely interesting, yellow makes such a strong statement and the contrast between the patent leather and linen heel is unique. Your thoughts?

Waist knot want knot

Ooh Boutique obi belt $22

I have done a post on obis before but my interest was renewed when I spotted a woman at lunch looking oh so chic with an obi, pencil skirt and button down shirt. Her waist looked incredible with the cinching from the obi. Of course I would not be the fashion fiend that I am if I didn't talk to her about her look. She told me that the obi actually came with a suit that she had (which I can only imagine was lovely as well) and that she enjoyed being able to switch it up by pairing it with separates. A great way to spice up any outfit!

Yea or Nay?

I don't wear false eyelashes, I have once or twice and it looked like spiders were on my face whenever I looked down. But I know some ladies who are able to wear lashes and they look darn good. I came across these false lashes from Shu Uemura in dramatic colors of blue and yellow. As far as the colors go, I think that they are rich and fabulous. As for putting them on my eyes, I don't know. What do you think? Are you willing to funk it up and rock these lashes or are they too out there for you?

Patrick Robinson for Target

Patrick Robinson has been tapped as the newest designer for Target's limited edition Go clothing line. Robinson, who began his career creating surfer clothes for his cohorts in Southern California then took his talents to NYC. Graduating from the Parsons School of Design, Robinson then worked for some of the best known fashion houses including Perry Ellis and Giorgio Armani. Currently working for the French fashion label Paco Rabanne, Robinson is known for bringing a modern feel to classic silhouettes.

I first saw a jacket from his collection in my newest issue of InStyle and made up my mind to go take a look at my local Tarjhay. I traipsed to Target the next day and found the jacket that I saw in the magazine but it was only in an extra small. "Must...find...jacket.." I mumbled, heading to yet another Target the next day where I only found another extra small and an extra large jacket. Not to be outdone, I marched myself into yet another Target and lo and behold there was a whole rack full of jackets, MY jacket:

Found: Black Wide leg pants

I just received these black pants from Victoria's Secret and I LOVE them! They are wide legged, come in tall length and fit great. One of my co-workers actually told me to order some after I complained that I never thought that my pants were long enough.

Victoria's Secret Marissa pant $68 (on sale!)

I also have these black wide legged pants that also fit fantastic (a little big in the waist but makes my butt look great so that's always a plus!) I am going to get them tailored, that would totally ruin the experience if I had to worry about my pants being too big. Also wide leg and also long length. These are actually a heavier weight so I can wear them now and they will be perfect for the cooler weather. They also have a wide waist and hook and eye closure.

Diane von Furstenberg Gavin pant $265 @ Neiman Marcus

Make sure if you go wide, opt for a fitted top to balance it out.

Blue, the color of calm and tranquility looks good on a variety of skin tones and designers are taking notice. Because bold colors are so in right now, cobalt blue has become one of the hues to choose from.
