Site of the Week: Shabby Apple

Shabby Apple welcomes you to great dresses that make dressing simple.

After years of not being able to find stylish dresses that covered enough skin to make you really feel comfortable (without wearing a tank top, cardigan or long slip), owners Emily and CK decided to do something about it.

They visited trade shows, marketplaces and designer studios only to discover the problem was not that department stores weren't buying the right dresses, but that designers weren't designing them.

Shabby Apple is proud to offer you fantastic dresses that allow you to look fabulous, without having to compromise anything else.

A return to what dresses were always meant to be - a one piece outfit. No need to add anything...no tank tops, no cardigans, nothing (except accessories, of course!)

Faux Real?

Question from Dear Abby:

DEAR ABBY: I was in a major department store, carrying a designer handbag, when a woman I didn't know approached me and asked if my bag was real or a knockoff. I was at a loss for words. The rudeness of that woman floored me.

I was always taught to be polite and not ask nosy questions. How would you have handled it? -- OFFENDED IN ARKANSAS

DEAR OFFENDED: If the handbag was genuine, I would have told the woman it was. And if it wasn't, I would have told her where to find one like it.

My opinion: I have had the same scenario play out once at Marshalls and another instance at the nail salon and both times complete strangers asked if my handbag was real. If it wasn't real I would share that also but I think to ask a complete stranger about their bag is rude. If I know the person then yeah by all means, ask away. What are your thoughts? Is it simple curiosity and should be treated as such or is it an invasion of privacy?

SCORE!!!!

Check out my thrift store find today:

Aren't they PRETTTTTYYYYY??????

I am never able to find cute shoes in my size while out thrifting so this was a good day. This was my one and only purchase and for a mere $10 to boot!

I also saw this dress at the register, it was gorgeous but it was $99!!!!! That was the THRIFT store price. The label said Phoebe Couture and is apparently pretty pricey but I couldn't justify spending that amount of money on one item at a thrift store unless it is a designer handbag.

Amanda at the register was kind enough to hold it up for me to snap a photo
