Marinate on This Mindset

I have recently been reminded of how our mindset affects our actions.....

You will eventually become what you think. And you can't think one thing and become something else. If you allow yourself to think negative worried, fearful thoughts, then you will become a negative, worried, fearful person. You cannot think defeat and expect victory. You can't think poverty, and expect wealth. You can't think the worst, and expect the best. - excerpt from Joel Osteen's "Guarding Your Thoughts"

Top: Thrifted
Skirt: H&M
Bracelets: InPink/Forever 21
Bag: Prada
Shoes: Zara (On sale for 20 bucks!)
If you believe that you're gonna have a bad day, then guess what? Bad day happens. But it is because you choose to focus on all of the things that have gone wrong instead of the things that have turned out in your favor.

I have struggled with not letting myself fall victim to "stinking thinking" (to the contrary of one of  my friends, she thinks that I am always upbeat, lol. #sucka) But we all have our moments and our days but you can't stay there.

"As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he." Proverbs 23:7

"Every action and feeling is preceded by a thought."
Now think about that. You have the power to decide if you are going to be happy, sad, mad, joyful, etc. It doesn't just happen. YOU are the decider!

I have decided that I want to live in the spririt of gratefulness, even when things aren't particularly going my way. I believe that God wants to do great things for us and we in turn have to expect great things for ourselves.

You will never pursue something that you don't think that you deserve.
Now marinate on that...

"No one is ready for a thing until he believes he can acquire it. The state of mind must be belief, not mere hope or wish." ~Napoleon Hill

Great post! I'm a firm believer that we are what we think. You're thoughts are very powerful. So if you want the best, you've got to focus on the best. It works too. When I'm filled with gratitude and focus on positive things, that's what I get. Our lives are our perceptions that means we can have whatever kind of life we say we have. :D

Well said! The beginning of each year I always get a sense of whatever God is going to work with me for the year and I call them my "spiritual themes." This year gratitude and optimism are two of mine. Negative thinking really does bring you down and before you know it, it spills over into everything. Even when things go wrong during the day, I try to focus on positivity and keep a grateful and humble spirit. I really enjoyed what you shared in this post. And your outfit is cute too! Those heels!!

True Story: I was just having this realization that I have this friend who uses me as her dumping ground for all of her negative energy and ONE PHRASE popped into my head: I am not here for that.

Yeah, I might be a regular reader. LOL!
