The Yes Face

I was having a conversation with a friend and she was telling me that she gets approached by men all the time. She said that it's because she has a "yes" face....

Huh???? A what?!?! What the heck is a "yes" face? That's what I said too! She said that she makes herself approachable to guys and that her face gives them the go ahead to talk to her.
She then recounted an episode of when we went to the grocery store together and she said that a guy was looking at me. She said that she told me that the guy was checking me out and my response was "Well he better say something then." She said that because I didn't make eye contact, smile or show any interest, that's why the guy didn't say anything to me. That being approachable is what's called the "yes" face. She said that men do not want to be rejected and that they need a cue that you are inviting them to talk to you.

Necklaces: Belts worn as necklaces
Shirt: Thrifted (Men's department)
Skirt: H&M
Tights: Target
Shoes: Jessica Simpson
Bag: Fendi

I told her that I disagreed with her assessment, that I thought that I was very approachable. I smile and make eye contact and will sometimes have conversations with random dudes. But most guys will just look and not say anything. But I am of the opinion that if a guy wants to talk to you, he's going do it.

But in the meantime, I'm gonna work on my yes face.....

How's this???

Is this a real thing? Do you believe that you have a "yes" face? Do you believe that men need a cue to approach you?

I heard a varation of the yes face as well. I mean, I get the logic, but I also agree with you...Yes, no, mybe so, a guy will talk to you or find a way to get your attention if he REALLY wants to. A lot of the time I'm too wrapped up in my own world to even notice someone noticing me. So he really MUST approach...lol! But I guess I can work on my "yes face" as well if I were to meet eyes with an attractive stranger.

I have a perpetual "stay the eff away" face. It's a problem. I'm working on it. It just happens to be my natural expression. I even wore it in my baby pics. I need a "yes" face in my life.

Oh wow, my friend(s) tell me this all the time. I'm working on it, but I feel if the guy is interested he should man up and say something. lol.

Your yes face is epic, haha! I agree with you--if a dude truly wants to get your attention, then he needs to approach you regardless of your 'yes' face or not.

Yes I think that it is real. My "resting" look or my look when I am tired is usually serious. So people think that i'm mad or unapproachable. when i'm out I get alot of "why you lookin so mad" comments. Now I try to be more cognizant of my mug so I won't run off the "one"! LOL

And to piggy-back, I think that the "yes" face shouldn't be confused with the "easy" face.

Men definitely need the green light to approach a beautiful woman. At the same time, he also has to be willing to risk rejection. I try to give the yes face by smiling a lot and making eye contact. It definitely helps...of course the unattractive guys always have no fear-but that's another story. lol

Lynaya's comment has me loling, its so true! Why must the unattractive, crazy or just foolish guys have the MOST confidence, eh? I have been told that I look mean, unapproachable, stuck up from males and females! It is SO far from the truth! I am one of the funniest, silliest and most talkative people on the planet! It takes me a minute to warm up though. I am very observant and a great listener so I guess I am too busy feeling things and people out. I try to smile more, but I have a serious look as well! And no it doesn't stop the fools! UGH!
