Who does a blog post 875834573586756734589453282 years later??? I do, that's who. Don't judge me. Well you can, just don't tell me to my face. Hmmmmmm, what can I say about my absence? I could come up with something deep and poetic about "getting my energy balanced" (which is true) but let's just say that I didn't feel like it and leave it at that.

Go Juanette, It's Your Birthday!
It's my birthday today yall! I am a fit and feeling fabulous 41! I was thanking God this morning for another birthday and was overcome with how grateful I feel! I haven't always been in a good place emotionally with all of the things that I have been through but I am oh so grateful for all of those things because I am so much stronger for the experience.
I like to use my birthday as my own personal New Year so I make a list of goals that I revisit throughtout the year. I was looking at my journal from last year and I am reminded of how far I've come. I also looked at some old blog posts and laughed at some of my outfit pics. Why didn't yall tell me that I (sometimes) looked like a sister-wife?!? #YallWrong
But I wanted to take this opportunity to thank you all for reading my little bit of blog and leaving your comments, yall are my 'friends in my head' too!

In The Fashionista's Closet: Berry Good
I.love.these.pants.
The end. That's all I have to say.

Ok, you know that's not ALL I have to say. These pants are long and fit in the waist, two things I hardly ever find straight off the rack. If I could have gotten them in all colors I
I think that people don't realize my love for all things Zara. If I had a daughter, I would name her Zara. After the store. Maybe with an h on the end to make it classy.
(Ha! I told yall I hate when people say something is "classy" because it's usually so not.)
But at least her name won't be Cristal, like the Champagne , Alize or White Zinfandel.

Have a safe and beautiful Thanksgiving Holiday!

In The Fashionista's Closet: The Light of Day
Yay! I made it outside! In the daytime!
My days consist of me going to school while it's dark outside and coming home when it's dark outside. And everyone acts as though this is normal. "Yeah, my first year teaching was like that too." But this is NOT normal, people. They should tell you these things before you sign on the dotted line.
"You will forfeit all semblance of your life for at least one year except the weekends where your only respite will be to engage in drinking alcoholic beverages and drunk texting."
Just kidding. *But not really.*
But don't cry for me Argentina because I'm thinking of birthday plans that I hope will make up for my endless hours at work.

What's Your Inspiration?
I have photos both in a binder that I have torn from magazines and online photos that I save for fashion inspiration. I love to look through magazines and if I see something on television, I try and find the look to save online. Sometimes I will print out the online photos and put them on my inspiration board. But at times it's not the actual pictured item that's inspiring, it may be a concept or just something that speaks to me.
EVERYONE has an inspiration board, right? Or is that only in my mad little world?
My Inspiration: Scarf Headband
In The Fashionista's Closet:
Yellow and blue printed scarf: Thrifted *I also bought a yellow and purple print one but I can't find it anywhere! I wanted to wear that one with this dress* Scarf is more long than wide, can also be worn as a belt
Dress: I purchased from a home shopping party about three years ago. A girl who has/had a boutique in Houston came to town with her things and had a fashion party. I love this dress, I normally pin it because as you can see, it can be revealing.
Earrings: I can't recall where I got them but I remember they were cheap and they had the same earrings at Arden B for like $15
So now, do tell, what is YOUR inspiration?

I love this look the most, I have been searching for a wide scarf
but I may have to find some fun fabric to recreate the look.
My way:
Please do not ask me why I insist on taking photos throwing up the peace sign, I do love it though. It's way easier for me to look goofy than "model-y." In The Fashionista's Closet:

Fall Fashion 2009: Scarves
Inifinity Scarves:
Saved from learning to tie a scarf, opt for an infinity or circle scarf instead. I went the cheap route and got mine from Target but the American Apparel scarf has a variety of ways to wear it so you have a multipurpose version.
Chunky Scarves:
Cozy yet still stylish, you can wear this scarf to protect you from the coldest of winter chills.
