In The Fashionista's Closet: Regret Nothing

I saw an ex-boyfriend recently and he told me that us breaking up was one of his biggest regrets. He said that he hated that he didn't appreciate what we had when we were together and that he took me for granted.
(I agree with him, lol.)

Earrings: Beauty Supply
Sunglasses: Gap
Dress: Marshalls
Belt: From another dress
Clutch: DSW
Shoes: Steve Madden

I have had similar conversations with exes. But then he apologized. I haven't experienced that before. He said that he was sorry for any hurt that he caused me and any hardships that I experienced as a result. I appreciated the gesture.

But I think that exes are exes for a reason. It's hard when you know that you've tried, that you've loved someone with all that you had and it didn't work out. But you have to ask yourself what is your responsibility in it and what are you supposed to learn from it.

I try not to live my life with regrets. I have had moments where I've been too impetuous, given too much of myself or fallen too hard for someone who didn't feel the same but I don't regret it. I learn the lesson and move on, not everyone will appreciate you so you have to find someone who thinks you're the flyest girl on the planet. And not just in hindsight....

There are things that I wish I would have handled differently but I don't regret the lessons that I've learned as a result of not doing things quite the right way.

Thank you so much for posting this. I am in the moping stage of a break-up where I put in far too much of myself and got far too little back. These are words I needed to hear! Thanks for the wise introspection!

You make great points!!! Regretting things you can't change is never good, learn from them and move on.

Thanks for this post. From my childhood i'm afraid to lose some opportunity in my life and regret about it for a very long time. So as we see on example of your ex, think one hundred times to make some serious step...Good at least that he apologized.
And few words about style..ones again your look so trendy, and ones again i enjoy your choice of designer glasses! Be yourself!

You already know my thoughts on this ma'am! I totally agree with you. I don't want to be an after thought. If you don't appreciate me in the moment, don't come chasing back later on! No bueno! It took me a minute to get to that point early on in life, but I am so there now!
Gimme that dress and those earrings! I know, always begging, lol.

I have had similar run-ins and consequent conversations with a few exes. I agree that people become a part of your past for a reason. I have an ex who left me to go back to (and marry) a previous ex...go figure. But him leaving created room for a better man in my life - who one loves me for who I am and thinks I am awesome for it...for that, I am grateful!

PS - Love your look; it's so colorful! :)
