In The Fashionista's Closet: Uptown Saturday Night

I atttended a birthday soiree on Saturday that was described as a "lounge" but was actually a bar and it was a really good time. I met up with Chastity of The Curvy Girl's Guide to Style and we had fun laughing it up and dancing. She is a dance machine and don't let her tell you any different!

Anyone who knows all of the dance moves to Salt & Pepa's "Push It" gets an auomatic A+ in my book...

There was a girl at the bar who was breaking it down like the girl from the Sun Drop commercial, I wanted to take her photo so bad. She was oh so serious and I suspect had taken a hip hop dance class and wanted to show everyone that she could break it down like the best of'em. Incidentally the dj played the song "Drop it Like It's Hot" by Snoop Dogg (I think especially for her) and she was in high heaven.

Happy (belated) Birthday Shannon!
Shirt: Thrifted by Reiko
Skirt: Target
Clutch: DSW
Shoes: Betsey Johnson

OMG that clutch makes me want to run outside of my office and dance on a taxi cab like in "Fame".

I can't believe you brought up Sundrop Sarah again!! I had gotten that image out of my head from the last time and now I have it up and playing repeatedly! LOL

Peace from Brooklyn

This is so cute! You know I have my F21 striped maxi dress that I've worn into the ground. You and Reiko are gonna have been wearing it until the stitches unravel.

i can't take the hip hop dance queen at the club seriously at all. LOL!!!! I can just picture it... and umm YES!!! not only can I do all "Push It" dance moves but I also know all the words!

"YO, YO, YO, YO baby pop! yeah, you... come here, give me a kiss... betta make it fast or else I'm gonna get pissed... Don't you hear the music pumpin hard, like I wish you would... now push it... duh, duh-nu-nu-nuh... p-push it real good!"

This post was just what I needed. I have a longer striped skirt that I'm trying to style and this gives me hope. Although I have no where to go and see anyone drop it down low..giggles. Love that you love adding color. I'm a big box of crayons and can't resist either.
